“In 1970 I had the privilege to be in Rishikesh, India, to train as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. This was the last international teacher training course to be held in India. The later courses were on a much larger scale providing fewer opportunities for the intimate day-to-day contact with Maharishi that we enjoyed in Rishikesh.
“On one occasion, when I was talking with Maharishi, I gave him my mother’s love and he said, ‘send her my love and write lots of nice things to her in your letters’. This book takes the form of excerpts from these letters and it includes authentic photographs which I hope will add to the flavour of this special time and place.
“When those of us who were with Maharishi in Rishikesh are no longer here, generations to come will always ask the question, ‘What was it like to be with Maharishi in India?’.
“With Maharishi’s guidance I hope to at least give a flavour of this unique and extraordinary gift that only he could impart to us.
“The digital version of Letters from Rishikesh includes audio clips, which I hope will enhance the flavour to the reader even more.” – Liz Court
